Benigno Aquino III, whom is fondly called Noynoy, won the Philippine National Elections last May 10, 2010.
The final count was made by the Philippine Congress.  Aquino got 15 millions votes compared to Joseph Estrada, former President and who came second in the lead, with 5.7 million votes.
Noynoy is the only son of Philippine democracy icons Ninoy and Cory Aquino, who had devoted their lives battle corruption in the country.
Aquino is now a 50-year-old bachelor.  He graduated from one of Philippines premier universities, Ateneo de Manila University, with a degree in economics.,
He will officially become this Southeast Asian nation’s 15th president on June 30. He will replace Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
