A 12 year old girl named Rachael Shardlow from Australia lost consciousness after being badly stung by a box jellyfish while swimming in a river with her brother in December. She was then pulled fomr the water by her brother while the jellyfish’s tentacles are still wrapped around her legs. Before she lost her consciousness, she told her brother that she cant see and breathe. She spent six in the hospital then went home for full recovery.

The box jellyfish has been considered to be one of the most venomous creature in the world. Each of its tentacle has about 500,000 cnidocytes, harpoon-shaped needles that inject venom into the victim. Most of its victims suffer severe physical and psychological symptoms.
